The AVA OKANAGAN SUBMISSION GRAPPLING CHAMPIONSHIP is a Central Tournament and will be ranked in the Season 2026 with 1 x Placement Points. Earn your chance to qualify to fight for the Throne Belt.

SUMMARY 

AVA is designed to determine the best submission grappler.

The structure of the rules and format reflects that. Round robin format means every athlete competes against everyone in their group. 

Not all wins are equal. A submission in regulation is worth the most points and the athlete with the most points wins the division. How you win matters more than how many times you win.

The true submission grappler is the one who finishes the most, the fastest, compared to everyone.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

• Early Weigh-ins - TBA

• Tournament - Saturday Sept. 26 | Doors open: TBA | Tournament starts: TBA

• Spectator Entry per day: $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. This includes family and friends. Competitors aged 17 and under may bring ONE parent or guardian at no additional cost.

• Location: Creekside Conference Centre | Auditorium - 3310 37th Ave Vernon, BC V1T 2T5

*Competitors: Please be at your mat number 10min before your scheduled first match.

REGISTRATION PRICES: 

· $95 Early Bird (Deadline May 31, 2026)

· $110 Normal (Deadline August 30, 2026)

· $130 Late (Deadline September 20, 2026)

· $50 for additional Divisions

COACHES 

Staring season 2026, coach signups at the door will no longer be available.

All coaches must register online in advance to receive a coach pass. Coaches who are not registered by the deadline will be required to pay the regular spectator fee. 1 coach is allowed for every 3 competitors, with a maximum of 7 coaches per academy.

Registration deadline is 3 days before the tournament.

Deadline is Wednesday, Sep. 23, 2026.

Coach signups will open the same date registrations open for athletes.
